I always had this business in my mind to set up a big shopping mall. To take up this project was an uphill task and needed a lot of research. The first and foremost thing to set up a shopping mall was to select the best location so that it targets the maximum number of customers. Also, I did a research on the competition that was there in the location that I chose. Based on my budget the next thing I had to decide was whether I can afford to buy, rent or lease the premises. The location and the premise that I wanted my mall to be in suited my budget for leasing it. When leasing everyone should keep in mind the agreement made plus the terms and conditions put forward by the owner. The owner and I then went to the legal office were the agreement can be signed.

I also investigated about the federal, state and council registrations and other permits and licenses required for setting my business. The most important thing in setting up any business is its cost. You always have to make a budget of everything involved in setting up the business. I have done all the research to find out whether I will be able to survive with the money I had until the business starts to pay me. To assist this I had also made a business plan for the next 12 months as how to manage the operations along with the complete project costs and the statement for cash flow.

When I was researching I found out that in setting up a mall we should take care of the occupational health and safety issues. To ensure this I took full details on the same and took care that all the facilities to maintain the occupational health as well as safety issues are taken care of. One very important aspect that I could not have missed is to insure my assets. I made it sure that I have taken all the insurances necessary for my business.
